Kids Programs

At Combined Martial Science, we have one of the largest children’s mixed martial arts programs in the Inland Empire.  In fact, we offer a variety of martial arts training for children as young as three years old.  For example, our Little Champs class is for both boys and girls, ages three to five.  When your child trains with us, he/she will learn balance, gymnastics, yoga, basic martial arts, rope climbing, obstacle courses, and so much more!

Our afternoon classes are for boys and girls, ages five and up.  Your child will learn boxing, Muay Thai, kicking, Judo, Jujitsu and wrestling, as well as all of the mental discipline and focus training that together will build self-confidence, honor, respect and humility.  Best of all, your child’s martial arts training will teach him or her to focus and to have mental discipline, which in turn will enable your child to achieve higher grades in school.

Simply put, our well-rounded program at Combined Martial Science will help your child to:

  • Build self-confidence
  • Increase self-esteem
  • Develop respect for authority
  • Increase concentration
  • Focus better in school

All of our classes are taught in a nonaggressive manner by experienced martial artists.  Furthermore, a large portion of our program is devoted to mental discipline.  The following values are emphasized on a daily basis:

RESPECT Treat others the way you want to be treated.
COURTESY Be polite and considerate of others and have good manners.
HONESTY Do not lie, cheat or steal.
DILIGENCE Never give up; keep on trying.
HUMILITY Be humble, not proud.  Do not brag.
RESPONSIBILITY Clean your room, do your homework and do your chores without being told.
OBEDIENCE Obey higher authority.

At Combined Martial Science, our professional, energetic instructors create an enjoyable atmosphere that makes learning fun and exciting. Our children’s martial arts program helps children develop improved strength, flexibility, coordination, balance and endurance. In fact, our classes provide an excellent way to burn off extra energy, or to increase the energy level and vitality of the less active child. Below is a list of our programs offered to children, click the links to learn more about each program:

Jiujitsu

Jiujitsu is a dynamic self-defense system that teaches one of the most effective martial arts in the world. Children will learn Brazilian, Japanese and Russian ground-fighting techniques, including all of the latest striking, submissions and finishes seen in UFC or pro fighting (arm bars, chokes, throws, leg locks, take-downs, and stand-up self-defense moves). One of the things that makes our program so effective is that we spar during every class! That means children will get plenty of opportunities to practice what they learn.

Judo

Judo

An Olympic sport, Judo is its own unique style of martial arts and is a very effective method of self-defense. The basic philosophy of Judo is to use your opponent’s size and strength against them. In Judo, children will learn to use over 65 throws, numerous pinning techniques, and hundreds of arm bars and choking techniques. Judo teaches self-defense, character development, competitive skills and humility. And at Combined Martial Science, we are a national Olympic-sanctioned school, so we even compete on a national level!

Muay Thai Kickboxing

Muay Thai Kickboxing

Muay Thai Kickboxing is known worldwide as one of the most effective stand-up forms of self-defense. Our Muay Thai Kickboxing program is a great workout, whether you’ve never kicked before, or you are a seasoned martial artist. Children will learn a variety of stand-up techniques, including the disciplines of Muay Thai, kickboxing, boxing and Karate. By using our easy-to-learn techniques, children will start to see improvements in their flexibility, strength and endurance just weeks after joining. During the course of training, children will learn punches, kicks, elbows and knees, all of which come together to create an awesome form of self defense!

Little Champs

Little Champs

At Combined Martial Science, we believe that the time between the ages of 3 and 5 years old are the most important years of a child’s development. In fact, this is the perfect age to teach children how to respect others, focus, follow instructions, listen and sit patiently without talking. Furthermore, we believe that martial arts training helps to build a strong foundation that can easily be applied in academics, sports and social settings outside our school.

Our Little Champs classes are age-appropriate, fast-paced, fun-filled, educational and motivational. Each class is filled with exciting, high-energy drills that are carefully designed to encourage little ones to focus and follow directions while simultaneously enhancing their social skills. Specifically, students will learn Jiujitsu, martial arts and wrestling drills, basic pinning techniques, yoga, gymnastics, rope-climbing, tumbling exercises, kicking and punching. All of these exercises will encourage children to concentrate on developing strength, speed, agility, coordination and motor skills.

Although our classes start simple and easy, they gradually become more challenging, based on each child’s individual pace and readiness for new material. At Combined Martial Science, our Little Champs classes are based on positive recognition, reward and reinforcement for effort, skill, manners, sportsmanship and respectful treatment of others. Self-confidence and self-esteem are also developed in a gradual step-by-step manner.

Martial Arts for Kids with Autism

Martial Arts for Kids with Autism

Autism is a developmental disorder that, according to the Autism Society of America (ASA), affects one in every 88 individuals. Symptoms of autism are characterized by difficulty associating with others, lack of communication, repetitive behaviors, and sensitivity to touch.

At Combined Martial Science, we believe that martial arts provides a way of learning how to cope with the symptoms of autism. That’s why we offer classes that are specifically designed for students with autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD). Our martial arts classes provide exercises that focus on body movement, which allow students with autism to become more aware of themselves.

Our structured class routine provides a level of comfort to autistic students, while still introducing them to variability and an acceptance of slow changes. Repetition, which is one of the cornerstones of our popular training techniques, further helps students with autism to build a certain degree of self-assurance and confidence. Through martial arts training, students with autism will experience significant improvements in social skills, self-control, self-confidence, discipline, focus and coordination.

At Combined Martial Science, we believe that becoming an expert in martial arts is not simply about being your strongest or most fit – it’s about accepting yourself and learning to work within your limitations!
